WHO CAN ENTER?

Entrants must be professionals working in the field(s) of graphic design, photography, illustration, advertising and art direction, environmental design, film, animation & video, interactive design, architecture, copywriting, object design and typography. If your work does not fit within any of these categories, this does not necessarily mean that it isn't eligible - email info@adcyoungguns.org to make sure.

Entrants must be 30 years of age or younger when the entry site opens each year, and must have been working professionally for at least 2 years (both full-time and freelance work qualify). We will require a proof of age in the form of a Passport, State ID or drivers license from all entrants.

If you are a student with two years of the working life under your belt, you are also eligible to enter. Previous ADC Young Guns entrants ARE eligible to enter, but past ADC Young Guns winners are NOT eligible to enter subsequent cycles of the competition.

ADC Young Guns is an international competition open to all who qualify.

ENTRY FEE: $135 USD. All entries must be submitted by May 12, 2010.

Dutch Design Awards

The Dutch Design Awards (DDA) are a series of awards to honor Dutch designers. The awards are handed out during the annual Dutch Design Week in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. A year book and exhibition of the nominated designs are also presented as part of the event. The Dutch Design Awards are organised by the Dutch Design Award Foundation and the city of Eindhoven.
De Dutch Design Awards are handed out since 2003. In 2008, the name was changed from the Dutch-language Nederlandse Design Prijzen to the current name.
Twenty prizes are handed out during an annual awards show. In addition to the main prize, the Golden Eye, which honours the most successful Dutch designer or design studio, awards are handed out in a number of categories. Each category has its own selection committee, and the winners are selected by an international jury. One exception is the public award, the Audi Design Award; the winner of this prize is chosen from a shortlist by means of a public election held on the Web site of the Dutch Design Awards and in the Bijenkorf department store in Eindhoven.

Excellent Swedish Design

Excellent Swedish Design (Utmärkt Svensk Form) was a design award handed out by the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design (Svensk Form) 1983-2002

In the early 1980s, the opportunities for designers in Sweden were scarce. Few companies had realized the importance of consulting a designer. The chairman of the designers section of Svensk Form, Hans-Christer Ericson, then presented the idea of a design prize, to be awarded to various professional design organizations and their producers. In 1983 the first jury presented their choice, and after that the prize was handed out every year until 2002. The graphic designers (ABCD, now Sveriges Reklamförbund), the industrial designers (SID), the interior architects (SIR), the craftsmen (KIF), the illustrators (FST) and the textile and fashion designers (STOK) every time chose their representative for the jury. In later years, web design and corporate identity were also awarded. Excellent Swedish Design, with its logo designed by Hans-Christer Ericson, became a huge media success, both in Sweden and abroad.

London International Creative Competition

London International Creative Competition (LICC) is a vehicle for facilitating contact between uniquely talented artists and an international audience. LICC invites passionate visual artists, regardless of experience or nationality, to submit their innovative artwork for inclusion in the LICC competition. The artwork is juried by a board of internationally esteemed artists, writers, curators, gallery owners and other luminaries of the visual arts. The 15 finalists work will be presented at the LICC awards ceremony in London, one prize-winner will be chosen by the jury to receive the £2,000 cash prize. This year’s categories: Architectural, Audio/Music. Design (Environmental/Fashion/Graphic/Interior), Drawing/Illustration, Installation, Mixed Media, NetArt/Web Design, Painting, Performance, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Textile, Video and Film, Writing. Other. Entry fee is £20 (Students £15). To make the competition more accessible to an international community, some countries have a 50% discount.

Northern Design Competition 2010

The Northern Design Competition was developed to raise the profile of design talent in the North, by highlighting opportunities to employers and students. This contest is open to all students in pre-16 education and further or higher education studying at a school, college or university which is based in Scotland, Wales, Northern England or Northern Ireland. Entries are welcomed from students who have a permanent residence outside of these areas as long as their education institution is located in one of the UK entry zones. There are several key categories and a number of special prizes: Architectural Design, Fashion Design, Film & Animation, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interactive Media, Photography, Product Design, Young Northern Designer, Maurice Miller Design Champion, Thompson Real World Prize, North Inspired Prize. The intellectual property rights in any entry to the Northern Design Competition remain the property of the entrant.
