Nagoya Design DO!

Nagoya Design DO! is an international design competition that is open to the whole world. The competition seeks to develop the potential of young designers and to enable exchange between designers.
Nagoya Design DO! was started in 1998 and has been held every two years. “Nagoya Design DO! 2010”, the 7th competition, has been reborn into a new form that is inspired by the vision of “Creative Design City Nagoya”.

By creating themes from various issues in Nagoya and by holding a competition, we hope to encourage young people throughout the world to consider what design can contribute to the ideal society.
In addition to prize money, award winners of the Nagoya Design DO! competition will be given the privilege of participating in a workshop held in Nagoya. At the workshop, themes will be discussed through joint cooperation with students and young designers from both Japan and overseas. Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to give a public presentation regarding the results of the discussions.

We hope that Nagoya Design DO! will serve as a stage for new creativity and the transmission of that creativity to the world.

International Bicycle Design Competition

The International Bicycle Design Competition is the only worldwide bicycle design competition.
It was followed by the "1997 Bicycle Design Competition Among Korea, Japan & R.O.C." These two competitions were welcomed with great enthusiasm by Korean and Japanese participants as well as by those from Taiwan, and so from the third year on, the competition became a global one. The sponsors anticipated that it could become a channel of communication among bicycle designers, manufacturers and aficionados from all over the world.

Design is vital to all aspects of our lives. By bringing depth, clarity and transparency to the industrial design process, these case studies reveal the profound importance of the profession. This concrete body of evidence will instill into the collective consciousness design's power to effect positive change.

Eligibility
Open to design stories worldwide. Designers, client companies or any interested party may nominate a design story. There are no restrictions on dates in use or in distribution; however, the design story must clearly demonstrate the impact of design.

Application/Nomination Process

Nominate your own design story or someone else's via email application. The Review Committee may also nominate design stories that they feel are exceptionally worthy of a case study.

Fees
There is no fee to nominate a design story.

Review Committee
Committee will be comprised of professionals from across business, design, and academic disciplines.

Review Process
On a semi-annual basis, members of the Review Committee will evaluate all abstracts and decide whether to conduct brief follow-up phone interviews. No member of the committee shall engage in voting or commenting on a nomination in which that reviewer has a financial or other stake in the outcome of the nomination, or who served as a consultant, teacher, or advisor. Subjects must agree to grant these writers timely access to data, high quality images/graphs and key personnel in order for them to craft the best case study.
